The Projects
We felt that it wasn't enough for us to go where we are called to just establish the foundational components
of our mission without leaving a fingerprint of compassion upon the people of India. So, we are partnering with churches in the city of Ahmedabad to accomplish a few projects that will make a difference in the lives of
those in need. Below you will find the projects that we are planning during our journey.
Project One
We
will be partnering with a church in Ahmedabad to minister in a
school of 200 children. We will be providing each child with a
pencil and notebook to help them learn to write. To add a little
fun we are going to provide some toys, soccer balls and
footballs. The most exciting news; we will be sharing the story
of Jesus with the school children.
Project Two
Our
contacts have told us that there are many areas in Ahmedabad
where families live in abject poverty. They will directing
us to the areas of need, assisting us with locating wholesale
food distributors and we will be providing rice, oil and grocery
items to as many families as we can. It is our hearts desire to
provide and distribute at least one commercial truck filled with
food items. We will be adding additional distribution based on
the funds that are available.Project Three
The
political leaders of India have been working diligently at
improving the economic condition of the country. But along
with economic improvements comes the byproducts of those
improvements which are seldom seen by the general public. We
have discovered an area south of the city of Ahmedabad where
people have been directed to live after being forced out of
their homes and businesses so that malls, office buildings
and hotels can be built. The conditions in this area
near the city dump are deplorable. We are still looking into
what the needs are, but they will be probably have to be
identified once we arrive. We believe that septic tanks and
water pump stations are greatly needed.
